Census of Canada, 1961 Basic Summary Tabulations |

The census basic summary tabulations (BSTs) are a series of tabulations, each of which features two or more interrelated variables. Each table deals with a specific characteristic of the Canadian population either as individuals or in their family or household relations, or with a characteristic of Canadian dwellings. Figures in brackets indicate the number of variables, or fields, for a given characteristic. All summary tapes contain identification codes as to province, district, EA, county, municipality, MA, rural-urban etc. Tape files are sorted in province, district and EA order. Each EA record is subdivided into farm and non-farm parts.
